about
We just created this as part of a Sadhana I am currently part of in my Light of Shabad Facebook group. We are a group of yogis who study Gurbani (Sikh Scripture) and do Sadhana together. We are chanting this Shabad as part of a 40 day Sadhana.
My son Jeremy Quintin has his own musical projects going on. Recently he played me his latest music and lo and behold I saw it went perfectly with Jai Tegang that I was chanting.
I am blessed that Jeremy was willing to let me use his music in the creation of this composition. We did it very quickly but I am pretty happy with it and I like that it is the key of C minor. We also added the harmony at the end that I like so much.
Note also it is nice and slow, so beginners may find it easier to chant along with this as part of learning this Shabad. There are 11 repetitions. Note also I am a beginner, learning this Shabad and chanting it in Sadhana for the first time.
Jai Tegang serves as a way to release negativity and cut through karma.

Jai Te Gang Mantra Translation:
The sword breaks through and cuts down the demons of the mind and body.
This beautiful and powerful weapon adorns the battlefield of life.
It is as an extension of the arm, unbreakable, terribly fast.
It’s awesome splendor overshadows even the sun.
It protects the peace and happiness of the saints and destroys any powerful negative energy.
It has erased the negativity and guilt that I carry. I seek its refuge.
Praise, praise be to the great doer of the world, savior of the creation, my great protector.
Praise be to the sword.
